class=\"hf-stats\">\r\n\t<div><strong>2,188<\/strong><span>Newly reported with chronic Hep C, down 4%<\/span><\/div>\r\n\t<div><strong>398<\/strong><span>Reported with acute Hep C, up 123%<\/span><\/div>\r\n\t<div><strong>72%<\/strong><span>Cured or cleared since 2014<\/span><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>The number of people newly reported with chronic hepatitis C in NYC decreased 4%, reaching its lowest level in a decade.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Of all people reported with hepatitis C since 2014, 72% were cured or cleared of the virus as of 2024.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Among the 2,188 people newly reported with chronic hepatitis C:\r\n\t\t<ul class=\"hf-profile\">\r\n\t\t\t<li><b>63%<\/b> male<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><b>42%<\/b> ages 30 to 49<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><b>31%<\/b> Black<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><b>29%<\/b> white<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><b>28%<\/b> Latino\/a<\/li>\r\n\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The Bronx and Brooklyn have the highest rates of people reported with acute hepatitis C and people newly reported with chronic hepatitis C.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Male-to-male sexual contact, HIV infection, and injection drug use were the most frequently reported risk factors among a group of people newly reported with acute or chronic hepatitis C and interviewed by the NYC Health Department.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"hf-more\">\r\n\t<p>Previous NYC Hepatitis A, B and C
